Tsukune is about to be executed for being a human and Moka can’t do a thing about it and elsewhere the rest of the girls are down in the dumps. But as the time for the execution draws near, help arrives in the form that will bring all the girls together, to fight for the one they love.

The Newspaper Club tries to collect evidence of the Public Safety Commission’s corruption but they responds by arresting Tsukune on suspicion of being a “human” and he is taken away with Moka, Kurumu and Mizore. They are all questioned intensively and Tsukune is forced to admit to being a human. His confession is revealed to the rest of the school. Moka is jailed and Tsukune is sentenced to public execution.

The Newspaper club returns from summer vacation to the beginning of their 2nd semester and discover that their club has a new challenge in the form of a rival club “The Super Newspaper Club”. With the new club constantly beating them to the punch, things are looking pretty hopeless for newspaper club. To make matters worse, the new club is being backed by the Public Safety Commission.

Skipping forward from the events that previously occurred, Ruby wakes up in a tent surrounded by Tsukune and the girls. The question on their mind is why Ruby would go so far to attack them? After answering them, Ruby manages to sneak out and returns to her master, just to end up forced to take action. Tsukune and the girls had out in search for Ruby when all of a sudden they are attacked by Ruby again and a huge battle begins.

With the exams over, Summer Vacation begins and the newspaper club will be having a summer retreat in the human world. Tsukune feels ecstatic not only because he’ll get to spend time with Moka but he will finally be able spend time out of the school and with normal humans. However problems arise when the group decide to check out field of sunflowers (Witch’s Hill) and a suspicious girl named Ruby spots Yukari using magic.

The infamous Maths teacher Ririko Kagome has begun teaching and it has reminded Tsukune of how useless he is with maths. So he asks Mako to help teach him but he ends up studying with everyone. When Ririko hears about this study session, she invites Tsukune to a remedial class instead. Tsukune accepts but this may not be a wise decision, as Ririko is known for being very obsessed and strict.

The newspaper club has released their latest issues, which is proving to be very popular, so they decide to have an after school party to celebrate. During the class roll call a girl named Mizure Shirayuki, who has been skipping school, has come to class for the first and she has taken quite a liking to Tsukune. The only problem is that Mizure the Snow Woman wants him all to herself because she thinks only he understands her.

Tsukune, Moka, Kurumu and Yukari together have joined the Youkai Academy newspaper club and they get acquainted with the only other member Ginei Morioka. Ginei already has a thing for Moka but cannot do anything about it because of Tsukune. They begin on the case of a mysterious “serial peeping tom” and Ginei uses this as an opportunity to frame Tsukune, so he would be hated by Moka.

The time for all the students to choose club activities has come and Tsukune has a hard time looking for an interesting club until he comes across a swimming club, full of beautiful girls. Without even considering Moka’s feelings, he immediately joins the swimming club and Moka feels left out because water is her major weakness. Tsukune’s choice may come at a price, because the original swimming club members have an ulterior motive.

So they relentlessly attack him but like always Tsukune ends up being protected by the girls.

There he meets beautiful girl called Moka Akashiya and she claims to be a vampire. If things weren’t strange enough for Tsukune, it turns out that he is the only human in the school and he’s already made an enemy of one of the monsters (Saizou Komiya).
